Albany High debuts new athletic field -- Oct. 17, 2015

Saturday, Oct. 17 was a great day to be a Falcon as Albany High School played on its new athletic field for the first time. It was the first on-campus varsity football game ever at an Albany public school, and the fans braved the chilly weather to celebrate the occasion.

A host of elected officials were among those who turned out to cheer on the Falcons and celebrate the start of a new era and great things to come for Albany High, including Board of Education President Ginnie Farrell, Vice President Sue Adler and Secretary Kenneth M. Bruce. Also showing their support were New York State Assembly members Pat Fahy and John McDonald, Albany County Executive Dan McCoy, Albany County District Attorney David Soares and former Albany Mayor Jerry Jennings.

From the tailgate party put on by the Falcon football family before the game to the end of the Falcons' 49-13 loss to former crosstown rival CBA, it was a fun event and a sign of big things to come.
