Important information about Albany High graduation

ALBANY, N.Y. (June 16, 2017) -- This year for the first time, Albany High School will hold graduation ceremonies at the Times Union Center.

Graduation is Sunday, June 25. Students should plan to be at the Times Union Center at 12:30 p.m. All guests will have to abide by the arena’s regular safety procedures, so family members and others may want to consider arriving between 12:30 and 1 p.m. to allow time to proceed through security.

Ceremonies will begin promptly at 2 p.m.

Times Union Center staff will follow these rules:

  • All guests will be required to walk through metal detectors as they enter. If needed, security will perform pat-downs.

  • Bags and containers that are larger than 13 inches by 15 inches will not be permitted inside. This includes but is not limited to pocketbooks, backpacks, diaper bags, coolers and packages.

  • Any child 16 or under must be accompanied by an adult.

  • Doors will close at 2:45 p.m., and no one will be allowed in the building after that time. There will be no re-entry if you leave.

  • No balloons are allowed in the building. Balloons will be confiscated at the door and not returned.

Students must be dropped off at the Beaver Street entrance to the Times Union Center. Family members and others should plan to enter the arena either through the front entrance on South Pearl Street or the parking garage entrance at the end of Beaver Street. Free parking is available in this garage on a first-come, first-served basis.
