ALBANY, N.Y. (Nov. 6, 2008) -- Daniel Egan was sworn in Nov. 5 as the
newest member of the City School School District of Albany Board of
Education, one night after receiving the highest vote total in a
city-wide election for two open seats.
As the candidate receiving
the most votes, Mr. Egan immediately filled the seat vacated in March
when Teneka Frost resigned. The board now has its full seven-member
complement.
Former Philip Livingston
Magnet Academy teacher's aide Rose Brandon, who received the
second-highest vote total, will join the board in January. Ms. Brandon
will replace President William Barnette, whose term expires Dec. 31. Mr.
Barnette did not seek re-election to a third four-year term.
The unofficial returns from
the Nov. 4 election:
-
Daniel Egan -- 8,802
-
Rose Brandon -- 8,044
-
Daniel McGinn -- 7,366
-
Edith Leet -- 4,529
