Curriculum pacing maps

Below you'll find a modified overview of ELA curriculum pacing maps for all grades. The maps provide parents and teachers with the general course of study or content for a particular month, as well as the workshops students will attend.

Pre-K-6 Program
Follow these links to view the core curriculum for prekindergarten through grade 6.

Grades 6-8 Program
Follow this link to download the Grades 6-8 Curriculum Pacing Maps.

With each grade 6-8 genre study, students will be required to read accompanying texts to support that specific unit. While students are required to read specific texts in relationship to the Grade 6-8 ELA curriculum for the district, New York State requires students to read 25 books throughout the school year.

This means in addition to the literature read in class, students also should be selecting books to read independently at home.

In addition to the reading element of Grades 6-8 ELA, all students will participate in Columbia Teachers College, Writer's Workshop. Writer's Workshop supports the genre study unit by providing instruction in writing that parallels a particular reading unit of study.

Grades 9-12 Program
